The Labyrinth of Time, Review

the labyrinth of time

Cover Design: Brad R Cook
Publish Platform: SmashWords.com
Price: 3.99
Genre: Teen, Fiction, Literature

The Labyrinth of Time is a great read. The characters' development draws you into a believable fantasy world of magic, love, and saving the world from doom.  It was hard to stop reading. This story used a lot of visual elements throughout, helping the reader's imagination. There were only a few minor errors in writing, such as missing commas. Other than that the story is a delight to read and is well put.

The Timeout, Review

The Timeout

full starfull starfull starempty starempty star

Book Title: The Timeout
Author: Bobby Mathews
Publish Platform: Smashwords.com
Price: Free
Genre: Fiction, Thriller & Suspend, Crime & Thriller, Romantic, Short Story

The Timeout, is more a love thriller and suspend then just a regular crime story. Overall though, I found myself getting sucked into the story-line by the suspense in what was happening. The plot and dynamic of the story were interesting and the characters' development was surprisingly well done. However, at the same time I found the story too wordy, and the sentence structure wasn't well composed. That does not mean it was not written well, or was bad writing. It just means the style was not my taste, for I found it too wordy, and the writing was too much focus on telling how something is to the reader than what it is by the character. That was the reason why I gave it three stars out of five star rating. Still, a good read.

The book can be found in the free section. It is only 1,080 words, and compromise of short poems. A prefect read for kids, or to be read to and with kids. It takes on the story telling from a Grandparent point of view in telling tall tales to the little ones about the misadventure of their parents and to amusing thoughts. Filled with heartfelt humor and playful banter. A truly family oriented book, even the author family members pitched in making the book. Recommend reading to a child and a fun read to read out-loud together.
